VOC Analyzers

Volatile organic compounds escape from valves, seals, flanges and tanks, and VOC analyzers are how industry finds and quantifies those escapes. Two detector principles divide the work: flame ionization (FID) for broad hydrocarbon response, and photoionization (PID) for low-level sensitivity to many compounds. This category is built around instruments that carry one or both.

The PTM100 pairs FID and PID in one portable with a library of more than 200 VOC gases; the PTM200 answers the regulatory non-methane hydrocarbon question with a high-temperature FID and a built-in catalytic furnace.

LDAR and fugitive emissions

Leak detection and repair programmes walk component inventories — every valve, flange, pump seal and connector — reading each potential leak interface and tagging the leakers for repair. The analyzer is the programme's measuring stick, and its detector choice is usually set by the governing method and the compounds present.

Fugitive-emission monitoring widens the same techniques to area and fence-line work. The FID-versus-PID comparison page and the VOC detection guide develop the selection logic in full.

PID inside multi-gas instruments

PID also appears as a channel inside the portable multi-gas platforms (MS400 family, PTM600), reading TVOC and PID volatiles at 0–10 ppm spans for screening. Screening finds the neighbourhood; a dedicated VOC analyzer then quantifies the source. Both tiers are on this site so a programme can be equipped end to end.
