The family spans hand-held laser methane detectors, the PTM600-L pump-type laser methane detector, the PTM600-EG laser methane and ethane detector, remote laser methane instruments, the shop-listed ZW-G200 laser leak detector with alarm and long detection distance, natural gas leak survey equipment and its software — and at system scale, the U8 vehicle-mounted survey platform detailed below.

Screening versus pinpointing
Laser instruments screen: a crew sweeps a street, a compressor yard or a bridge crossing and flags the spots that deserve a close look. Contact instruments then pinpoint and quantify at the flagged point. Programmes that buy only one tier either walk too slowly or dig too often; the methane detection guide lays out the combined workflow.
Ethane discrimination — separating pipeline gas from marsh and sewer methane — appears at the system end in the U8's CH4 + C2H6 analysis; hand instruments rely on location and context for the same judgement.
Survey software and records
Modern leak programmes are records programmes: the survey must be provable street by street. The U8 builds geolocated, camera-backed records as it drives; hand-instrument programmes log through their companion software. Either way, the deliverable is a defensible map, not a memory of a walk.
